Hand-thrown stoneware
Maren works out of a converted grain barn north of town, throwing functional stoneware in glazes mixed from local clay and wood ash. Everything she makes is meant to go in the dishwasher and get used.
Letterpress printing and hand-bound books
A working letterpress shop on Broadway running a restored 1904 Chandler & Price platen press. Cards, broadsides and hand-sewn journals — and yes, you can pull your own print.
Forged steel and reclaimed farm iron
Twenty years of blacksmithing out of a shop built into an old dairy barn. Garden stakes, house numbers, fire pokers, and sculpture made from tine and plow steel pulled off Darke County fields.
Turned bowls and reclaimed barnwood furniture
Bowls turned from storm-fallen ash, walnut and cherry gathered within twenty miles of Greenville. Each piece is tagged with the road it came from.
Hand-fabricated sterling and stone
Sterling pieces set with Ohio flint, Lake Erie beach glass and the occasional fossil. Nothing cast, nothing mass-made — every piece is cut and soldered at the bench.
Hand-dyed yarn and handwoven throws
A mother-and-daughter studio dyeing yarn with black walnut, marigold and indigo grown in their own garden. Bring your hands — they will put you on the spinning wheel.
Soy candles and cold-process soap
Small-batch candles poured in reusable stoneware, scented with what actually grows here — sweet corn, cut hay, lilac and creek mud in the spring.
Wood-fired pizza
A converted horse trailer with a wood-fired oven in the back. Six pizzas, all built on Darke County flour and whatever is ripe that week.
Acoustic folk and old-time fiddle
Guitar and fiddle, mostly old tunes with a few originals slipped in. Playing the Courthouse Square stage from 5:30 until the street clears.
Community photography collective
Two dozen local photographers showing work from around Darke County — barns, fields, the fairgrounds and the people who make it all run. Prints available, proceeds go back into the club.
This event happens because these businesses and neighbours pay for it.
