Scarecrow Decorating Contest

Join us for a little fall fun in downtown Greenville with this year's Scarecrow Decorating Contest! We're inviting local businesses, organizations, families, and community members to get creative, decorate a scarecrow, and help bring some extra autumn charm to downtown.

Registration is open through September 30, 2026. Once your registration form and $20 entry fee are received, you'll receive a confirmation email with your assigned pole number and location. The $20 entry fee is a non-refundable donation to Main Street Greenville and helps support our downtown programs, events, and community initiatives.

How to Enter

Register and pay your entry fee online:

Prefer paper? Turn in an entry form with your $20 entry fee (checks payable to Main Street Greenville) by September 30:

• Mail it to Main Street Greenville, 421 S. Broadway, Greenville, OH 45331
• Drop it off at the Main Street Greenville office
• Place it in the mailbox outside the Welcome Center at 421 S. Broadway

RULES & INFORMATION

1. Scarecrow entries will be accepted at Main Street Greenville until September 30, 2026.
2. Once we receive your registration form and entry fee, you will receive a confirmation email with your pole number and location.
3. Poles can be decorated October 1–8.
4. You must incorporate your pole number into your décor and make sure it is visible to voters.
5. Public voting will take place October 9–12. Voters will be able to vote for their favorite scarecrow at the Welcome Center and on social media. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be contacted and listed on social media.
6. You may not decorate a pole higher than 9 feet. Do not use glue or permanently fasten anything to the light pole.
7. Please be sure to use painter’s tape, string, zip ties, or other easily removable materials.
8. We strongly urge you to periodically maintain your pole design. Check it after storms or high winds and keep it looking nice for voting.
9. Decorated poles will stay up until after October 31st. Tear-down will take place November 1–6.
